What is Good Bones Inc.?

Good Bones Inc. (also known as Good Bones Handyman) is a locally owned, fully insured handyman company in Springfield, Illinois. Our slogan is "Handymen for the greater good."

What areas do you serve?

We serve Springfield, IL and nearby towns, including Chatham, Rochester, Sherman, Riverton, Auburn, Williamsville, New Berlin, Pawnee, Pleasant Plains, Athens, Divernon, Dawson, Leland Grove, Jerome, Grandview, Southern View, Spaulding and Clear Lake. What kinds of jobs do you do?

Everyday repairs and refurbishment: drywall patching, interior painting, door and trim carpentry, cabinets, flooring, lock changes and rekeying, window screen repair, TV mounting, LED bulb upgrades, battery-only smoke and CO alarms, faucet repairs, screw-on shower head swaps, electric range swaps, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and cleanouts including eviction cleanup. Do you work with landlords and property managers?

Yes. We handle tenant turnovers and make-readies, punch lists, Section 8 / HUD inspection repairs, trash-outs and cleanouts, rekeying between tenants, and ongoing repairs for rental portfolios.

Do you do electrical or plumbing work?

Mostly no. We handle only a few small items: LED bulb upgrades, battery-only smoke and CO alarms, outlet and switch cover plates, faucet repairs (washers, cartridges and aerators), screw-on shower head swaps, and electric range swaps (a range with its cord already attached, plugged into an existing outlet). We don't replace faucets, dishwashers or garbage disposals, hook up gas appliances, or swap light fixtures, ceiling fans, outlets, switches or hardwired alarms.

Do you do exterior painting?

No. We do interior painting, including trim and doors.

How much does a job cost?

Every job gets a free, clear quote before we start. If something unexpected turns up, we talk with you before doing any extra work.

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. After-hours work is available by arrangement.
